3 Tips to Grow Your Instagram:

HI guys! It’s Travis here today. So last night I achieved something that I had been working towards for a while…my blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Long story short I was due for it last year, but got injured just before grading and had to take 8 months off! But I think it’s a small lesson in perseverance and dedication.

Dedication…. This brings me to today’s strategy, Instagram! How to grow and create a presence on insta, isn’t difficult and it isn’t rocket science, but it does take dedication. So here are a few tips to make the most of your Instagram:

Tip #1: Post content regularly: The more regularly you post in your Instagram account the better it is because you will appear on people’s feed more often and the more your prospects see your posts they more they will like you and be interested in your business. If not daily, several times a week is a good idea. Posts can range from photos of your own bootcamp or PT sessions, to inspirational quotes, to exercises, personal photos of your family or daily life, behind the scenes, it could be anything. Also, use hashtags in your posts to drive more people to follow you. Remember you can use up to 30 per post so think carefully what keywords you wish to target. Mix them up and target some broad hashtags such as: bootcamp, outdoor training, as well as more specific such as the park where you run your bootcamp or keywords that aren’t as popular. This way you will pop first in those hashtags.

Tip #2: Follow and unfollow: The secret to growing your audience is quite simple, the more people you follow on Instagram, the more likely they are to follow you back. But remember, you can only follow up to 7,000 people, which at first sounds like a lot, but it can start to be quite a small percentage amount of people very quickly. Be sure to set time aside each day to follow new accounts and potential clients, a percentage of these will follow you back, those who don’t, unfollow. You should be doing this every single day if you want to get the most out of your Instagram account. Warning! Don’t over do it or you may risk getting your account blocked or cancelled.

Tip #3: Send a welcome message to all new followers. Every time someone follows you, you get a notification in your Instagram account. What you want to do is click on that person’s account and send them a direct message to welcome them to your account and give them more information about yourself. You can say something like: ‘Hi ….. thanks for following me, if you’d like a copy of my free …… click here’. From here add these people to your community Facebook group and work towards making them clients. You can link your Facebook Community group to your Instagram Biography (IG allows you to have one link your profile).
